Further improvements to our liquid-helium-cooled scanning transmission electron microscope now enable atomic-resolution imaging with image alignment. The improved stability also supports electron ptychographic reconstructions, which place even greater demands on instrumental stability.
This effort was led by our collaborator Professor Shelly Conroy at Imperial College London. The team is excited to push the boundaries of resolution and stability to probe sensitive phenomena in quantum and functional materials.
